Education Search Engines:

BBC Course Search: If you're thinking about starting a course but don't know what's available in your area, BBC course search will help you.

Floodlight: Floodlight is the official guide to adult education courses in London. That's all the full-time, part-time, short courses and evening classes run by government-funded colleges, universities and adult education centres in all the London boroughs.

Hot Courses: Search for part time, evening and training courses.

 


FREE Courses:

ALISON: provides high-quality, interactive certified and standards-based learning free to the individual learner. Including ECDL, e-Citizen and Touch Typing.

BBC Learning Zone: online learning, support & advice in various subject areas, such as: Basic Skills. Building Skills, English, Information Technology and Legal & Consumer Advice. Including the Computer Tutor for beginners

FREE English Lessons: Saxoncourt Teacher Training, together with Shane Global Language Centres, offers free English Lessons to anyone who has an Elementary to Upper Intermediate level of English.

Vision2Learn: Vision2learn courses are suitable for people aged 16+ and as they lead to national qualifications are eligible for government funding in England...which means you may be able to study for FREE. Please see a member of the ETE staff for more information.

 


General:

British Council: Learn English online with the help of this free website from the British Council. With games, quizzes, grammar exercises, e-cards and more.

City Lit: City Lit is London's largest adult education college offering part-time evening classes and day time courses, during the week and weekend. Search more than 3,000 part-time courses.

City of Westminster College: City of Westminster College offers around 300 full and part-time courses to over 8,000 students each year in the centre of London.

Crisis Learning Zone: The Learning Zone offers a range of free courses that lead to accredited qualifications. All courses are under 16 hours, so they will not affect your benefits

Cultivatelondon.org: Is an innovative urban farm based across multiple sites in West London who recruit for traineeships 

Open University: The Open University (OU) is the United Kingdom's only university dedicated to distance learning.

West London Day Centre (DIY Course): City of Westminster College in partnership with the West London Day Centre is offering DIY skills in a friendly and supportive environment, Mon - Thurs 11.00 - 15.00. Click here for video

Westminster Adult Education Service: Offers more than 1,100 course in subjects like Media Studies, Business & Computing, Creative Arts, Leisure & Fitness, Modern Languages, English & Maths and Childcare & Counselling.

Westminster Kingsway: Westminster Kingsway College is a large college in central London, based at six centres in Camden and Westminster. The college offers a wide range of full and part time further, adult and higher education programmes.

Working Men's College: Provides opportunities for lifelong learning for the diverse range of London adults who may not be able to study full time, particularly those who have missed out on their initial education.

 


In-House Training

The ETE offers a variety of in-house training opportunities. See a member of staff for more information.

  • Literacy: One-to-One sessions with Sr. Judith. This is for anyone wishing to learn or improve their English.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Typing, and basic computer literacy.
  • CSCS: Health & safety training
  • ECDL: European Computer Driving License training.

The ETE room is available for CV writing, internet access for job and course search, work placement, Email and Voicemail account set-up.

 

 

 

 


Ready for Work

BITC Ready to Work Programme: The Ready for Work programme is a unique 2 week work placement scheme with major companies which at each stage supports and affirms the return to employment. Please see a member of the ETE staff for more information.
